St Andrews Old Course Ballot
The ballot or lottery allows players without a Guaranteed St Andrews Old Course Tee Time the chance to play St Andrews Old Course. Nearly 50% of the total number of tee times on St Andrews Old Course each year, are allocated to the ballot system. The ballot/lottery is drawn 48 hours in advance of the day you wish to play.

GHW Golf Tours offer a package including St Andrews Old Course Ballot Management. By no means does this guarantee success, but it does guarantee your entry is done correctly and on time. In order to enter the ballot, GHW Golf Tours would require all golfers names, handicaps and name of home clubs at time of booking.

St Andrews Old Course handicap limits are 24 for men and 36 for women.

The chances of success vary during the high season, with perhaps higher chances in other months such as April, May and October. It may require several daily applications throughout the week, and a flexible schedule to secure a tee time on St Andrews Old Course. This is where GHW Golf Tours come in, because if you have other golf already pre-booked, and successfully secure an Old Course Tee Time, our team will re-organise your other rounds so no green fees are forfeited (subject to availability at time of booking).

Single Golfers
Please note, a single player cannot enter the ballot. However, GHW Golf Tours have created a unique package that will allow you to ballot with one of our local and knowledgeable Scottish PGA Professionals. Alternatively, the only other option is to go down to the Old Course starters office, very early on the morning you wish to play, wait in line and take your chance - the earlier you go down the better!
