The Ardgowan Hotel, is a Scottish Tourist Board 3 Star Hotel centrally located within St Andrews, on North Street, 200 yards from the world famous Old Course golf course and R&A building. The Ardgowan hotel is also near the town centre and the University of St Andrews.

The Ardgowan Hotel comprises of two adjoining Georgian Houses of architectural note designed by the famous Scottish Architect Sir William Playfair. Set back within our own seated patio, which won the St Andrews Floral Award for Hotels 2009.

Playfair's Scottish restaurant and lounge bar is located on the ground floor within the hotel. So you don't need to walk far for good, fresh, quality home cooking.

Well known for its Scottish cuisine from people who visit and stay within St Andrews. Only the highest quality of fresh Scottish produce from local suppliers is used and the dessert's are created in house, to their own recipes. Playfair's restaurant only use ice cream made by a British award winning local firm called 'Luvians' to compliment our home-made desserts.
